Overview
The journey
- Eagle Hunters Festival in Mongolia: a journey of a lifetime
- In the heart of the Altai Mountains, where time seems to stand still, the golden eagle hunters keep alive a tradition passed down from generation to generation for centuries. We stay with nomad families, eat with them, ride horses, watch falconry displays and learn from the inside what life is like on Mongolia's open horizons.
- And since there is no Mongolia without the Gobi, we also travel to the desert of the singing dunes, where the sand sounds like a whisper and the evening light feels like a dream.
Notes
⚠️ Please note: places on this trip are limited, as access to the Eagle Hunters Festival is strictly controlled. Those who get to experience it can truly feel lucky. It is not an experience that is easily repeated.
The itinerary is indicative and may change because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances, given the special nature of the destination.
Mongolia is a unique, remote country with limited infrastructure, especially outside the capital. Many of the areas we visit are hard to reach, with long distances and roads that are often unpaved or in poor condition. Yurt camps are simple but authentic. At times there may be no internet or mobile signal.
This trip is for people who understand its particularities and are ready to embrace adventure with an open mind and flexibility. It focuses on culture, nature and the images of a country almost untouched by mass tourism. No special fitness is required, although there will sometimes be optional hikes.
Mongolia offers a unique experience, but to enjoy it fully you need the right spirit, patience and the understanding that nature and local realities sometimes set the pace of the journey.
