Overview

The journey

  • Eagle Hunters Festival in Mongolia – A Journey of a Lifetime
  • In the heart of the Altai Mountains, where the centuries never passed, the Golden Eagle Hunters honour a tradition handed down from generation to generation for centuries. We will stay with nomad families, eat with them, ride horses, watch falconry displays and learn from the inside what life is like on Mongolia's open horizons.
  • And because there is no Mongolia without the Gobi, we will also travel to the desert of the dancing dunes, where the sound of the sand recalls a whisper and the evening light seems like a dream.

Notes

⚠️ Note: This trip has a limited number of places, as participation in the Eagle Hunters Festival is strictly controlled. Those who manage to experience it can truly count themselves lucky. It is an experience that is not easily repeated.

The itinerary is indicative and may be modified, either due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances that may arise, given the particular nature of the destination.

Mongolia is a unique, remote country with limited infrastructure, especially outside the capital. Many of the areas we will reach are hard to access, with long distances and roads that in many cases are dirt tracks or in poor condition. The yurt camps are basic but authentic and well suited to a genuine experience. At certain stages of the trip there may be no internet or mobile network connection.

The trip is aimed at people who are aware of its particular characteristics and are ready to embrace adventure with an open mind and adaptability. Its focus is on the culture, the nature and the images of a country almost untouched by mass tourism. No particular level of fitness is required, although in some cases there will be the option of an optional hike.

The experience Mongolia offers is unique – but to enjoy it to the full, one needs the right spirit, patience and an understanding that at times nature and local reality dictate the pace of the journey.
