Day01Arrival in Amman – city tour and dinner
Welcome to the Kingdom of Time and Taste!
Meet at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport and fly to Amman. Arrival at Amman Airport and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon we get our first taste of the Jordanian capital. Starting at the Citadel, you will admire the panoramic view of the city and explore the ancient ruins that bear witness to the area's historic heritage. We then head to the impressive Roman Theatre, which still hosts events and concerts. Next comes a stroll through the bustling central market, where you can enjoy authentic Jordanian culture through the scents of spices, the colours of the fruit and the calls of the vendors. Welcome dinner at a traditional restaurant in Amman, where we will enjoy authentic Jordanian flavours.
Overnight in Amman.Day02Exploring Jerash and Amman
Discover Antiquity and Taste Tradition!
After a hearty breakfast we visit the ancient Roman city of Jerash, where we will admire the well-preserved monuments and tour the archaeological site. This is followed by lunch at a local restaurant with a master class in the traditional dish maqluba (chicken pilaf). Return to Amman and visit the Citadel and the Roman Theatre.
In the evening we explore Amman on an enchanting tour that reveals the city's night-time side. Starting from busy Rainbow Street, we wander among colourful shops, traditional coffee houses and modern bars, feeling the pulse of the city. This historic neighbourhood hides little lanes and small art galleries, while the smell of freshly fried falafel invites us to stop for a little tasting break. Dinner at one of the oldest fast-food restaurants in Amman, where we will enjoy falafel and traditional sauces. After this treat, we head to a local patisserie to try the famous knafeh, one of the region's most delicious sweets. The warm, crispy kataifi crust, combined with melted cheese and rosewater syrup, creates an explosion of flavours that perfectly rounds off our evening.
We then climb up to the Citadel to enjoy the night view of the illuminated city, its lights spreading like a sea of stars to the horizon.
Overnight in Amman.Day03Madaba and Mount Nebo – A Day of Flavours and Cooking Lessons
A Journey into Tradition: From the Holy Places to the Jordanian Kitchen!
After a hearty breakfast, departure for Madaba, known for its mosaics and its religious significance. Madaba, also known as the 'City of Mosaics', is a treasure of ancient history and culture that takes you back in time. Beginning our tour of Madaba, we visit the Church of St George, home to the city's most famous mosaic: the Mosaic Map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. As we walk the narrow streets of Madaba, we will come across many workshops where local craftsmen carry on the tradition of mosaic art, creating works that reflect the region's rich cultural heritage. We can stop at some of these workshops to watch the making process and see the craftsmen's skill up close. The tour ends with a stroll through the town market, where we can buy handicraft souvenirs and local products. Lunch at a family restaurant in Madaba, where we will try mahshi: stuffed courgettes and aubergines. Next comes a visit to Mount Nebo, where Moses first beheld the Promised Land before he died. It stands at an altitude of about 800 metres, offering stunning panoramic views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and even Jerusalem. On the summit stands the Church of Moses, built on the foundations of an early Christian church of the 4th century. The interior of the church holds stunning mosaics with plant and animal motifs, offering a glimpse of the region's artistic heritage. An impressive sculpture in the form of a cross and a serpent, known as the 'Brazen Serpent', symbolises the story of Moses and is one of the site's signature sights.
Transfer and arrival in Petra in the afternoon. At Petra Kitchen we will take a cooking class, in which we will cook a traditional local meal.
Dinner at Petra Kitchen and overnight in Petra.
Day04Full-day Exploration of Petra – Bedouin Dinner in the Desert
Experience the Mystery of Petra and the Magic of the Desert!
After a hearty breakfast there follows a full-day visit to the ancient city of Petra, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 and considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World thanks to its impressive architecture, its historical importance and its unique location. Petra is one of the most iconic and enchanting destinations in the world. It lies in south-western Jordan and is known as the 'Rose City' because of the rose-red colour of its rocks, which create an impressive sight.
Petra's buildings and monuments include the famous 'Treasury' (Al-Khazneh), an extraordinary façade carved into a huge rock and used as a tomb for the Nabataean king. Petra is laid out around a series of narrow gorges (Siq) that lead from one impressive site to the next.
In the late afternoon we leave for spectacular Wadi Rum, one of the most enchanting desert areas of Jordan. As we approach, the view changes and the landscape is transformed into a vast desert full of imposing rocks and golden sands. When we reach Wadi Rum, we will be welcomed by the Bedouin, the area's traditional inhabitants, with their characteristic hospitality. Our welcome will be in the authentic manner: with a warm smile and the warm atmosphere of Bedouin tradition.
Our evening begins with a traditional Bedouin dinner, served at a camp overlooking the endless sands and the impressive rock formations of the desert. The dinner will include local dishes such as 'mansaf' (lamb cooked with yoghurt and rice), 'maqluba' (pilaf with meat and vegetables) and 'zarb' (bread baked under the ground). All the dishes will be made with local ingredients and recipes handed down from generation to generation. As we immerse ourselves in this feast of flavours, we will also enjoy the wonderful natural beauty of the area. Sunset in the desert is a breathtaking sight, with the skies filling with colour and the light competing with the shadows of the rocks.
After dinner, the atmosphere of the desert becomes even more magical beneath the starry sky. The desert is known for its clear skies, offering a unique opportunity to see the stars and planets with a clarity rarely found elsewhere. The evening ends with traditional music and dancing around the fire, creating an atmosphere that combines authentic Bedouin tradition with the gentle calm of the desert.
The night will be spent in traditional Bedouin tents, where we can enjoy a unique stay, savouring the silence of the desert and the starlit night.
Overnight at a Bedouin camp.
Day05Jeep Adventure in Wadi Rum – Dead Sea
Touching the Sky: From the Desert to the Dead Sea!
After a hearty Bedouin breakfast we will enjoy an unforgettable adventure in enchanting Wadi Rum on a thrilling 4-hour Jeep tour, exploring the imposing desert landscapes and the area's impressive natural formations.
Our adventure begins as we board specially equipped Jeeps, ready to take on the challenges of the desert. As we drive through the desert, we will enjoy the feeling of freedom and adventure while crossing the sandy expanses and the impressive mountain ranges. Our drivers, experienced Bedouin with a deep knowledge of the area, will take us to some of the most iconic spots in Wadi Rum. One of the most impressive sights we will see is the 'Hanging Bridge' (Burda Rock Bridge), a natural stone bridge that seems to float above the landscape, creating a striking image. The 'Hanging Bridge' is a unique geological wonder offering amazing views of the desert and a photo spot we must not miss. The photo opportunities are endless, as the desert light creates magical colours and shadows.
After this enjoyable Jeep tour, we return to our camp in Wadi Rum for a delicious lunch. At the camp we will have the chance to enjoy traditional Bedouin dishes prepared with love and care. The pleasure of the food combines with the unique atmosphere of the desert to create an experience you will never forget.
Afternoon transfer to the Dead Sea.
Overnight at the Dead Sea.Day06Relaxing at the Dead Sea
Relax and Rejuvenate in the Waters of the Dead Sea!
Breakfast and a free day to relax on the Dead Sea beach. It is the ideal opportunity to enjoy the unique experience this exceptional destination offers. On the Dead Sea beach you will have the chance to discover the miraculous healing benefits of the waters and natural muds, known for their therapeutic properties. The waters of the Dead Sea are famous for their extremely high content of salts and minerals. Because of the high concentration of salt, the density of the water is so great that it allows visitors to float comfortably on the surface without needing to swim. This unique experience of floating on the surface of the water is simply magical. Perhaps even more appealing, though, is the chance to use the famous Dead Sea muds, which have therapeutic properties for the skin and body. The muds are rich in minerals such as magnesium, calcium and potassium, which are recognised for their beneficial effects on the skin.
