Day0211/04: Arrival in Tbilisi – "Stories from Old Tbilisi"
Arrival in the Georgian capital and transfer to our hotel to rest and prepare for the days ahead, full of experiences and adventures.
After a tasty breakfast at the hotel we set off on a magical journey back in time through Old Tbilisi, wandering its narrow lanes full of the scents and colours of another era. Our first stop is the famous Abanotubani sulphur baths, where the tradition of rejuvenation goes back centuries and the atmosphere takes us back in time.
We continue with religious monuments of different faiths, the city's Synagogue and Mosque, and Narikala fortress, standing proudly since the 4th century. The view from here is magical, with the city spread out before us like a living puzzle of cultures.
We admire the Holy Trinity Cathedral (Sameba) and the church of Anchiskhati, the oldest in the city. We don't miss the legendary clock tower of Rezo Gabriadze and his theatre with its unique architecture. In the afternoon we go up the sacred Mtatsminda hill, where we learn about the pantheon of Georgia's great figures.
We end the day with a stroll through the Dry Bridge market, where little treasures of the past and open-air sellers offer unique souvenirs.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day0312/04: Mtskheta – Jvari – Uplistsikhe
Breakfast at the hotel and a day full of history and culture. Our first stop is Mtskheta, the old capital of Georgia, a place that seems to have stepped out of the pages of history. The impressive Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a UNESCO site, enchants with its architecture and sanctity, a monument inseparable from Georgian identity.
We then go up the hill crowned by Jvari monastery, with a stunning view of the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, a moment of complete peace and connection with nature and history.
In the afternoon we travel back in time to Uplistsikhe, one of the most important cultural and religious centres of ancient Georgia, a cave town dating back to the 2nd millennium BC. We explore its rock-cut buildings, including temples, houses and even an ancient theatre. The view from the top of the rock takes in the river and valleys below.
In the evening we enjoy a traditional Georgian dinner at one of Tbilisi's best local restaurants, tasting khachapuri (cheese-filled bread) and khinkali (Georgian dumplings) with local wine, watching and joining in traditional dances and experiencing Georgian hospitality at its best!
Overnight in Tbilisi.

Breakfast and, after check-out around midday, a scenic drive over the Gombori pass with wonderful views of the Alazani valley, the heart of Georgian winemaking.

A tasting of wines made in these traditional jars follows, revealing the unique flavours of Georgian wine. We then join a cooking class to make local dishes such as khachapuri and traditional khinkali.
After the master class we enjoy a home-cooked meal made from fresh local ingredients in a traditional Georgian setting.
After lunch we continue to Bodbe monastery to see the tomb of Saint Nino, and then visit Sighnaghi, the "City of Love", surrounded by its 18th-century walls.
